CAEP Adult Education Pipeline Dashboard Coding Guide

With the user in mind, this guide has been designed to meet the needs of a variety of users, including adult education instructors and program managers/coordinators, college and K-12 administrators, information technologists, and institutional researchers. This is a companion guide to the Adult Ed Metric Definition Dictionary (MDD). The main purpose of this guide is to provide end-users additional support in using and coding for the California Adult Education Pipeline (AEP) found on the California Community Colleges LaunchBoard (LB) platform. This guide is designed to answer questions on the data used in the pipeline, how to verify these counts within your institution, and how to identify and code your institution’s data to ensure your adult learners and outcomes are being accounted for on the AEP dashboard. The guide covers what data are used, how they are collected and calculated, associated coding and naming protocols, and how to validate these counts externally. Screen shots and examples are provided to illustrate the topic.
